In Author, Person, Only, we aimed to give prominence to objects found in the neighbourhood, items that, although seemingly unrelated, revealed subtle ways of communicating with one another. We built a forged iron gate that became the setting where this growing collection was housed. The act of collecting became a form of care: a way of paying attention, of holding space for what might otherwise be overlooked. Each object was chosen not for its function or value, but for its capacity to resonate, to suggest a story, a tension, a presence.

The gate functioned as a bridge between the private and the public. While it marks a boundary and keeps the outside at a distance, it also allows a gaze to pass through. It inhabits that liminal space between inside and outside, between what is held and what is offered. In this threshold, the collection unfolded quietly and attentively, inviting others to witness the fragile connections between things, and between us.
